Hopax is a manufacturer and supplier of ASB-14 (amidosulfobetaine-14), It is a membrane solubilizing zwitterionic detergent (medium-chain amidosulfobetaine surfactant) used in protein and macromolecule research for the preparative extraction and solubilization of proteins for separation and analysis by methods such as 2D-electrophoresis.

Uses of ASB-14:

ASB-14 has been used in tissue engineering for antigen removal (AR) for xenogeneic scaffold generation.
ASB-14 has been used to develop and study zwitterionic micelles.
ASB-14 has been used in proteasome extraction especially for membrane-associated proteins.
Used along with CHAPS, is employed in protein solubilization even in the presence of thiourea.
ASB-14 has been used in proteomic sample preparation from Leishmania Donovan as a component of rehydration buffer.
