  • It is a protein specific additive for solubility and stability.

  • It is useful in preventing protein aggregation. It is widely used to improve the efficiency of solubilization of membrane proteins, isolate nuclear proteins, protein folding, renaturation, and crystallization.
  • NDSB-256 is a non-detergent sulfobetaine, It has a sulfobetaine hydrophilic group and a short hydrophobic group that cannot aggregate to form micelles, therefore NDSB-256 are not considered detergents.
